MINIMALIST IN MALAYSIA

Beautiful Friday evening shots of One 8 Five!

It has taken discipline every step of the way to maintain the simplicity of lines that are required for the minimalist architecture of this house to come to life. It is in these moments that we realise that our passion for design and our efforts to constantly hold our Contractors to a higher standard are really worthwhile in the end!!

THE PEONY TAKING SHAPE

It's been a while since we posted pictures of The Peony.  We are loving how dynamic the rooflines are!  With concrete, brickwork, electrical and mechanical mostly done, we are looking forward to seeing some finishes going in!

A PASSION FOR MATERIALS

A true collaboration of client, contractor and consultant has got us to the stage where we are finally seeing the reclaimed brick being installed both on the exterior and some interior areas of this project.  We have gone through many samples, mock-ups and we even spied the client coaching the workers on selecting the bricks! This is what we get really passionate about and we are really excited to see the end result!

Now that's what a construction site should look like!!

Really pleased to show up at the site for one of our residential projects to find the site immaculate, drawings displayed for all to see, planning and co-ordination being properly done.  Well done! I am a big believer that the state of a construction site can be a good indication of what the final product will be. A well managed construction site coupled with accurate paperwork gives us confidence that the contractor has thought through the construction methodologies carefully and will help to minimise mistakes and rectification work later.

Drawings displayed right at the entrance of the site for all the trades to have easy access to referencing them .  Proper drawing management on site is key.

A clean and tidy site allows workers to do their job safely and without obstruction.

Interesting to note that the contractor is using bricks instead of the typical plywood for the formwork for the ground beams and will be pouring the slab and beams all together in one go.

BEAUTIFUL MORNING

Satisfying moment when the overall shape of the structure is finally visible.  Here's a beautiful morning picture of one of our residential projects taking shape at the top of the hill.
